Classes begin at 8AM and end at midnight. There will be 8 hours between a student’s last class in a day and first class the next day dependant on student’s classes.
Classes must be selected one month prior to end of one term for the start of next term. January Term selection must be in by September of year prior. June Term Selection must be in by April of same year.
Terms run from January to May then June to November.
Breaks are as follows: Two weeks between terms. December to First Monday of January. Final week of terms is exam week. School week runs from Monday to Friday with Saturday and Sundays as free days
No dueling of any sort or practice of offensive magic in the hallways. Magic can be used between classes to get to the next class. We understand the size of our school so flying is allowed to get to class.
We ask all students maintain control of their familiars at all times when traveling. This means birds are to be kept in cages, felines and canines on leashes, replies in cages or leashes depending on breed, fish in proper containers, and vermin in carry cages of some description. Familiars are to be kept in your Room at all times unless you are bringing them out to stretch their various legs. We then ask students to keep their familiars to the park area. Familiars may be set free in the park so long as the student has control. We ask all fire-breathing familiars be properly trained not to randomly fire breath for the safety of others. Headmaster does have permission to deny a student’s familiar entrance to the school. In such a case the familiar is to be kept with the student’s family on their residence.
Students must sign out to visit surrounding cities or family. Sign out is at the front desk of the Dorms located on the first floor. Sign out must be approved by a Department Head or be accompanied by notice from guardians for those under the age of 18. Students must sign back in upon return.
There is to be no disrespect to other students, teachers, or staff. Disrespect includes abuse of any kind and general non-polite behavior. Disrespect is at the discretion of Teachers, Guides, Security, and Staff. We run on a three-strike policy. After the third one a student may face expulsion depending on severity of disrespects.
Students are expected to attend every class and show up on time (There is a 10 minute late allowance). They are expected to hand in assignments and other work for class. Any student not abiding by this rule will lose credits. A student begins a term with 10 credits and when credits reach 0, disciplinary measures will be taken. Students may avoid credit punishment if reason for disobedience is deemed acceptable. Students may also gain back credits at teacher’s discretion.
Students do not have to pay for medical supplies, food, or cleaning. All these are free on campus but abuse of the above will not be tolerated and falls under a disrespect.
Students are required to pay for books and misc. supplies where applicable. These books and supplies are found cheaper in our Shopping Floor in the Dorms.
Students may choose to remain in the Dorms over holidays with parental permission if student is under the age of 18.
Floor and Room assignments are final for first years and you must remain in your Room until the end of your first year pending threat of death or dismemberment from your Roommates. In the interest of inclusion, all first years will be assigned in a Room with all six Mage Types and you will attend the same Basics courses as your Roommates.
You may switch your Room or Floor depending on your grade after a full year of study. Floor and Room assignments will be completed December 20 based on grades. Rooms may be switched with students within the same grade percentile until December 25th. If student wishes to remain with friends who are within 10% of their grade percentile they MUST submit a Room Request Form no later than December 12th. Final Grades are given out around December 10 depending on exam. Therefore it is in the student’s best interest to be sure their friends are studying as hard as they are to maintain a comfortable Room environment.
Those students who score in the top ten overall no matter what the year will be given an opportunity to reside in the Top Floor. Those who decline will be assigned with whom they wish and Floors 1-10 will be assigned based on next grade percentile.
